What: Interested in working at the Department of Veterans Affairs? Well, VA is hosting a job fair and recruiting for the following positions:
Housekeeping Aids – WG-2
Positions are limited to preference eligible Veterans. Applicants must bring DD214 (member copy 4 that shows character of service), disability rating letter (if applicable) and SF-15, Application for 10-Point Veteran’s Preference. A detailed resume that includes positions held, if FT/PT or the number of hours worked per week, and detailed description of duties performed for each position held. Resumes should include information that shows the applicant has the ability to perform the duties of a Housekeeping Aid without more than normal supervision.
Peer Support Apprentice
Must be a Veteran in the process of recovering from a mental health condition and spent a minimum of one year in recovery from a mental health condition.
Orthotist/Prosthetist
A bachelor’s degree or higher in orthotics and prosthetics from a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited program OR a bachelor’s degree or higher in any major along with a post-graduate orthotics or prosthetics certificate from a CAAHEP accredited program. Must be board certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics (ABC) or the Board for Orthotist/Prosthetist Certification (BOC) as an Orthotist, Prosthetist or Orthotist/Prosthetist.
Nuclear Medicine Technologist – GS-11
Must be certified in Nuclear Medicine Technology by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technology (AART)
DRT Supervisor – GS-12
Must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (AART)(R)
Pharmacists
Pharmacy Technicians – GS-6
PTCB certification required.
Mental Health Social Worker or Licensed Professional Mental Counselor
Trauma and/or Residential Treatment Program specific work experience is preferred.
When: Tuesday, Feb. 12, 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Where: Marion VA Medical Center, 2401 W. Main St., 62959, second floor, recreation hall
Why: There is a renewed focus that VA is a place where the needs of Veterans are placed first through the provision of excellent customer service and employee engagement. Human Resources personnel will be available to provide feedback on resumes and application material. Actual interviews, however, will take place at a later date and time.
